Orchid Vale Primary School is actively welcoming families into its school community.
Families are warmly welcomed into the school community and we firmly believe that, as your child’s first educators, you continue to have a significant role in your child’s school journey.
Following our visit from Ofsted in March 2020 and subsequently becoming part of the Park Academies Trust family of schools, significant collaborative work has taken place to develop and strengthen the quality of teaching and learning.
The Trust is investing heavily in our school environment— enhancing IT provision, the library and the Early Years outdoor learning provision. We benefit from a wide range of shared facilities and expertise.
We have worked closely with pupils, parents and staff to establish our core values of:
Respect
Honesty
Kindness
Perseverance
Responsibility
Individuality
We share these common values through the way that we work as a school and with our local community.
From September 2023 Orchid Vale is a named feeder primary school in the admission arrangements for Abbey Park School, one of the most popular secondary schools in Swindon. More information can be found at www.abbeyparkschool.org.uk
Offer children a welcoming and inclusive environment where individual strengths are recognised, celebrated and nurtured.
• Lay secure foundations to grow as aspirational life-long learners, preparing our pupils for the next steps in life.
• Foster a love of learning, encouraging independence, curiosity and creativity through a wide range of opportunities
Our broad curriculum is designed to give children a passion for the full range of subjects but yet be able to find their true strength in subjects that they might choose to pursue to the very highest level.
Our curriculum is built around engaging experiences and practical activities that enable the children to make sense of the key knowledge that they need in order to be prepared for the next stages in their school life.
Phonics and reading are central to our curriculum, from our classes which are all named after successful children’s authors to a variety of activities that foster reading for pleasure.
We’d love to show you our school. Please contact our school office to arrange a visit.
We are a two form entry school with 60 children in each year group, organised into two classes per year group.
