A sentimental watch was stolen during a burglary in Swindon.

The incident happened at the home of an elderly couple in the Severn Avenue area at approximately 5.40pm on 14 November.

The watch was inherited from the victim’s father – it is a Longines gold man’s watch, with a brown leather strop and gold clasp. It has a personal inscription on the back.

PC Simon Talbot said: “This particular watch is really unique and is approximately 50 years old, so we are really keen to locate it and return it to the owners who have understandably been left feeling really upset about this incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing but we would really like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident or anyone who can help us reunite this couple with the watch.”

Call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
