Five people were arrested this morning following drugs warrants at two addresses in Eldene, Swindon.

Officers from the local Community Policing Team attended an address in Stubsmead at approximately 7.40am to conduct a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant.

A quantity of class A drugs and drugs paraphernalia were located inside the premises following searches.

Two males, aged 15 and 53, and a 47-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, while an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug.

At a second address in Bowleymead, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug after a large amount of cash and cannabis was located inside the property.

All five have been taken to Gablecross custody where they remain.

South Swindon community coordinator Philip Day said: "It's really important that members of the public feel confident in reporting suspected drug activity in their area to police so we can build an intelligence picture and act on the information we receive.

"We know how negatively drug activity can impact on a neighbourhood and we are committed to dealing with those engaged in this kind of criminality."

Enquiries are ongoing. If you suspect drug activity in your area, please call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
