The flower displays in St Mary's Church, Lydiard Park are always spectacular and this year's festival, from Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July will no doubt match those in the past.
It's a great opportunity to see stunning displays and see the conservation work being undertaken in the church adjacent to Lydiard House, parts of which have been in place since the 13th Century.
Entry is by programme. The opening times are Saturday 10am to 7 pm and Sunday 11.15am to 5.30pm
The musical programme includes:
Saturday 2 July, 2pm to 3.30pm - Flautists playing well known songs in the church;
Saturday 2 July, 7.30pm - Times and Seasons: an evening of music from the church year, presented by Strictly Recorders & Wentworth Voices. Entry fee £5 on the door.
Sunday 3 July, 2pm to 3.30pm - Ukulele Group & Flautists playing well known songs in the church.
The Festival culminates in a Choral Evensong at 6pm on the 3 July 2016. It is believed this is only the second time such a service has been held at St Marys in over 100 years. The will be no special choir. All the singing will be performed by those present. St Mary's would like to hear everybody singing out.
Strawberry teas will be available in the Stable Room next to the church from 2pm to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for St Marys Church.
