Police officers are investigating an aggravated burglary in Swindon.

Shortly after midnight on October 20, four men entered a house in Chandos Close in Grange Park and demanded the occupants hand over money and drugs.

The occupants, who are in their 20s, told the men they didn’t have anything to hand over, and the men left a short time later with a small amount of cash.

Det Con Nigel Bullimore of Swindon CID said: “We believe this was a case of mistaken identity and understandably, it caused the occupants a huge amount of distress and upset in their own home where they should feel safe.

“They were able to convince the men that they had no drugs to hand over and eventually they left with just a small amount of money.

“The occupants did not notice any vehicles outside their address at the time of the incident, so it is believed the offenders arrived and left on foot.

“This is a residential area so I believe there may be witnesses who could have seen this group arrive or leave the address. If you can help with our enquiries, please do get in touch.”

The suspects are all described as male, aged in their late teens to late 20s, dressed in black with their faces covered.
