Staff from Excalibur Communications particpated in an overnight sleep out to raise funds for Threshold and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and have hit their target by raising over £2,000.
Threshold is a local charity which provides emergency support for homeless people in Swindon. They supply vital provisions including short and long term accommodation, as well as a drop-in breakfast club and soup kitchen.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance has been a well established charity since 1990, which raises integral funds to maintain operation of air ambulances across Wiltshire.
Excalibur staff slept out overnight in the office car park last week, using only sleeping bags and cardboard shelters. Excalibur Sales Manager Darren Harper said: "A special thanks to those that turned up on the night with treats and donations. A special mention to Gareth & Shaun of Box & Seal Ltd for their kind donation of cardboard for us to sleep on.
"We can’t forget our very own Peter Boucher for providing the refreshments, and James Phipps for arranging much needed hot food during the night and in the morning.
"Last but not least a huge thank you to those that slept out, they really made it a night to remember and without their fundraising efforts we wouldn’t have been able to beat our target. Already looking forward to next winters sleepout!
Executive Chairman of Excalibur James Phipps added: “These two organisations, Threshold and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, are doing an incredibly important and challenging job and it is a pleasure to support them in any way we can.”
