Swindon Town Centre is set to be transformed into a riot of colour and festive fun this weekend. A host of free family activities will launch ‘Swindon’s Enchanted Christmas’ on Saturday 19 November, from 11am.
Performances on the Wharf Green main stage will go live at 5.15pm where X-Factor winner Ben Haenow and also North Swindon school girl Phoebe Maddison will perform ahead of the light switch on at 6pm.
Wyvern Theatre Panto star Ryan Thomas will press the big button to launch Christmas in Swindon with Phoebe, pictured below, who has raised thousands for Diabetes UK by organising events and releasing a CD of he songs.
The big reveal will be followed by a dramatic firework display.
As part of the weekend of festivities, Sunday 20 November will see a performance by dancing Stormtroopers ‘Boogie Storm’ who wowed the nation on Britain’s Got Talent. There will also be a performance from X-Factor star finalist Jay James and a spectacular lantern procession staged by children from local schools and colleges.
