Taylor Wimpey Bristol has donated £150 to a local football team in Swindon to help fund new equipment for future matches.
The housebuilder, which is currently building a range of homes at its West Point development at Ridgeway Farm, has provided the cash for Haydon FC to help purchase three new match balls.
Founded last year by West Point resident James Green, the team played their first season in brand new electric green kits, also purchased with the help of Taylor Wimpey.
James said: “We’re delighted that Taylor Wimpey is sponsoring us for the second season in a row. Last year we were able to buy a new kit and match balls which contributed to a very successful first season for the club.
“We played really well and finished second in our league which resulted in a welcome promotion, and then we finished off the season by placing as runners-up in the cup final.
“This year we’re focussed on another promotion, and the new balls will be a big help along the way.”
After playing football since he was 16, James has always had a passion for the game and decided to organise an adult 11-a-side team along with his close friends to fulfil a teenage ambition.
He added: “We had a great reaction to the team, with 21 players signing up to take part straight away.”
