Swindon Museum and Art Gallery are working with a collective of seven artists known as Group 7. Based in Dorset and Wiltshire, Brian Bishop, Martin Brewster, Bonnie Brown, Fran Donovan, Michelle Griffiths, Ursula Leach and Peter Symons are long term practitioners with a strong commitment to the media of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.

Their exhibition, Connections, which opens at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery on Tuesday 30 July, consists of new and current works, some especially made for this exhibition. The exhibition explores connections between Group 7 members in terms of their thinking, processes, contextual references and influences. There will be references to connections between the studio and the world, the idea and the outcome, the world and the imagination.

You can see the work by Group 7 in the Art Gallery from 30 July till 7 September. It’s free to look around and open Tuesdays – Saturdays 11am – 4.30pm.
