The eighth instalment of Sounds Like Women's Better With Music Cafe programme will take place in Covingham on Saturday 27 May.
The local non-profit's monthly pop-up community music cafe events have been running at various Swindon venues since October 2022.
Sounds Like Women is a non-profit organisation, aimed to empower women, girls and families through music and music related activities, especially those affected by domestic abuse, racial biases and gender based inequality.
The organisation's next Better With Music Cafe event will take place at St Pauls (on St Pauls Drive, Covingham, SN3 5BY), between 12pm - 4pm.
The event is free, and attendees can enjoy:
- Live music
- A community music workshop
- Refreshments (including tea, coffee, cake and soup)
- A second hand table top sale
- A music corner for children
- Open mic opportunities
This week's Better With Music Cafe event will also see musical performances from special guests Jaybirds (a local ladies singing group) and Bob Heath (singer-songwriter, music therapist and author).
Founder of SLW, Luiza Staniec-Moir said: "Through our newest initiative, the Better With Music cafe, we wish to create a safe and joyful place for a community, where we empower through playing music together and raise awareness about pressing issues.
"We also speak about locally available support and create the safe and friendly environment to meet, to be listened and to connect, or simply to relax and have fun."
