Swindon's own Britannia Majorettes celebrated their 20th birthday last week, with a colourful birthday party.

The marching band, which was founded in 2004 by Alison Humphrey, perform at various events in and around Swindon. The children all learn to play instruments and perform intricate marching routines using pom poms. They also enjoy a variety of team building exercises.

Alison said: "20 years ago I had a crazy idea to start my own majorette troupe and I can't believe we have made it this far."

"We are always on the look out for new members and are currently planning for 2025."

The group is based in Ferndale and is open to children from the age of 4 upwards.

The voluntary run group do all of their own fundraising and are currently seeking sponsorship to raise funds for a new storage unit.

If you would like more information on how to join the troup or would be able to help sponsor their fundraising efforts, please contact Alison on 07743 986236.
