The museum will open its doors to members of the public once again to celebrate the festive season.

Steam has announced that tickets are now on sale for its Christmas extravaganza, taking place on 4 and 5 December.

Visitors will have the chance to purchase festive treats and discover unique gift ideas as they browse 50 artisan market stalls displayed amongst Steam’s award-winning displays and iconic locomotives.

The weekend is aimed to be a joyful celebration of the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional Christmas.

This year, Steam welcomes many new traders, as well as those who are firm favourites with visitors. Hand-crafted items on offer range from textile gifts, greetings cards, jewellery and cosmetics, to home furnishings, artworks, Christmas confectionery and decorations.

Admission prices for Christmas at Steam are £3.50 for adults, £2.25 for seniors (65+ years) and students, and £1 for children (3-15 years). Under threes go free.

Santa will be making an appearance over the weekend with the return of his popular storytime sessions. Children will have the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas story and wrapped gift in a fireplace setting.

Sessions cost £8 per child in addition to event admission.

Steam says the safety of its visitors, staff and volunteers remains a number one priority. Capacities will be limited, so tickets must be booked in advance via their website at www.steam-museum.org.uk.
