The organisers of the Lechlade Festival have announced that the 2021 event has been postponed until next year.
"I’m sure it won’t come as a huge surprise and we know it is the responsible and only safe decision.
"Following informed advice from government and industry representatives, it has become clear that large events and mass gatherings are not going to be able to take place as early as May this year. It is so very disappointing as we have been working hard on new, innovative ideas, redesigning the festival to make you feel as safe as possible, whilst still bringing you a weekend of family fun and fantastic live music."
The event is now planned for 27-29 May next year, with The Boomtown Rats and Alexandra Burke already confirmed.
The festival director said the organisers were overwhelmingly grateful to those who continue to support it by holding on to their 2020 tickets.
Anybody choosing to roll over a ticket to next year will be entitled to:
- A £10 bar voucher per adult
- Exclusive 'Friends of the Festival' merchandise
- An exclusive discount on 2023 tickets
Jennie Rainsford wrote: "If you have already purchased tickets for 2021 (or have 2020 tickets which were automatically transferred) you have the option to transfer your tickets again to 2022, or receive a refund.
"Ticket holders will receive full info on transfers and refunds via email from Eventbrite (let us know asap if you have changed your email address since booking!)
"We are heartbroken at having to postpone the festival yet again. We very much hope you will continue to support the festival and our dedicated team. We will keep you updated with plans for 2022 – stay up to date via our Facebook page and look out for more online events taking place later this year!
"With huge thanks again for all your ongoing support."
