Swindon's MECA is to host The Cast of Stage Struck on Sunday, 9 July.

The Cast of Stage Struck (TCOSS) has become well known for its high standard of performances since it was taken over by Michelle MacClay and Grace Cruttenden in January 2015.

TCOSS are known for their mixture of quirky music, modern classics with a twist and swing, and performing with a Big Band.

In 2022 they joined forces with North Swindon Big Band and put on a sell-out performance at MECA, In The Mood.

Following the success of this show, they have joined forces again for 2023, and their 9 July show, Putting on the Glitz, starts at 3pm.

Having supported many charities over the years, this year IPSUM has been chosen. IPSUM are a mental health and wellbeing centre in Swindon, which aims to help address issues such as mental, psychological and emotional health, loneliness and isolation, increase self-esteem, encourage an active lifestyle and help promote positive change.

TCOSS are interested in their Therapeutic Music Programmes, believing Music can have a beneficial effect on your health and wellbeing.

A spokesperson said: "The link between the band and the singing group is well known local singer, Ken Jell.

"Ken’s love of Swing and Big Band music started at a very young age, and having performed all over Swindon and beyond, and being a member of the band and the singing group, he thought it would be great for the two to perform together.

"Ken has been a member of TCOSS and previously, Stage Struck, for over 40 years, he is a firm favourite with audience members with his charm and slick voice."

Putting on the Glitz will see TCOSS and North Swindon Big Band perform numbers including 42nd Street, Putting on the Ritz and Dancing Queen.

The Band will also be performing their own musical numbers and TCOSS will be performing a Diva section, including I will Survive, Rumour Has it and Sparkling Diamonds, but with a TCOSS twist.
They will also be performing numbers including Fat Sam from Bugsy Malone, All That jazz, Cabaret and many more.

To book tickets for the show, people should visit www.mecaswindon.co.uk or contact The Cast of Stage Struck direct via their Social Media pages.

Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £10 for seniors and under-18s. If booking through MECA a fee will apply.
