Jack Savoretti will be playing down the road at Westonbirt Arboretum on Saturday 15 June.
He said: “I really wanted to thank Rome and Italy for inspiring this album with all the amazing cinema and music that I was brought up on”, Jack says. “ It's somewhat of a homage to Italian culture and to my father and my fathers' father. It’s important to remember and celebrate our roots, and mine are very deeply rooted in a more romantic time of European history’.

‘Candlelight’, co-written with Joel Potts (Athlete, Ezra), is an intoxicating rhapsody of strings, choral harmonies, sinuous bass and guitar, with Savoretti’s woody, heartfelt rasp perfectly woven in between. “The studio is in the basement of this huge church and the atmosphere in there was essential when recording ‘Candlelight’” says Jack “that track became the calling card of the album.”
Produced by Cam Blackwood (George Ezra) and recorded in Rome at Ennio Morricone’s studio this summer, ‘Singing To Strangers’ features Jack’s acclaimed live band: guitarists Pedro Vito and Sam Lewis; bassist Sam Davies, drummer Jesper Lind, Davide Rossi (Coldplay, Goldfrapp) on strings and musical director Nikolai Torp on keys.
