The Journey, an immersive, processional, outdoor performance of the Nativity Story produced by the Old Town Partnership of Churches is coming to Old Town on 9 December.
The event which is free to attend is gathering huge momentum and public support. Organisers say over half of their funding is now secured in local grants and a portfolio of local sponsors have donated funds, services, plus their time, expertise and prayer support.
Their aim is to bring together people and organisations from across the community to celebrate Christmas in a completely unique way. They hope to bring the message of this story to Old Town in a way that resonates with many of the difficult issues faced by communities living in the present day.
Audience are invited to the Bazaar at Bethlehem, formed by the businesses, shops and eateries on Wood Street, to make the most of all the wonderful food, gifts and offers available, during this very special event.
Anyone wishing to volunteer as a steward or as part of the larger cast can contact the organisers.
Organisers would particularly like to thank Deacon & Son Jewellers, Minuteman, Born Again Swindonian and Dotty’s Cafe for their support of the project.
There are still some opportunities remaining to join in the event for businesses on Wood Street wanting to make the most of the captive rate by becoming a trader in the Bazaar at Bethlehem. Businesses who may want to sponsor the event and feature in the programme, or members he public who may want to donate to the event via their Go Fund Me page to help support the host of voluntary performers and crew members.
