This Summer, Swindon Arts Centre invites audiences to shake up their usual night out and join them for their summer season, packed with bold and brilliant performances. With an eclectic mix of side-splitting comedy, electrifying music and unique, one night only events.

Comedy fans can look forward to big laughs with rising stars of the UK Stand Up scene including creator and star of ITV2's hit sitcom, Buffering Steve Bujega. Leading political comedian and satirist Matt Forde (British Scandal, Spitting Image, The Last Leg) and Carpet-fitter turned comedian Jack Skipper.

Families can join everyone’s favourite magic marionette Pinocchio and follow his adventures which include being turned into a donkey and being swallowed by a shark in a magical show containing mime, puppetry, original music and heaps of audience participation.

Music lovers can enjoy everything from tribute concerts to intimate acoustic sessions showcasing talent from across the country. Richard Durrant, one of the world’s most inventive, virtuoso guitarists will be returning to Swindon for an unusual concert of musical, magical realism via the wilds of South America, JS Bach and the English Folk Baroque.

For those wanting to don their goggles, join the Steampunk Orchestra where classical elegance meets rock, indie, and pop in a steampunk-inspired experience whilst Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience.

Fans of Van Halen, Elton John, The Police and Bon Jovi will love Rock The 80s consisting of a selection of the greatest pop & rock songs from the era whilst fans of iconic female singer Stevie Nicks can enjoy the Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty Legacy Show, Europe's only tribute to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Those wishing to try something different, can join bestselling author and award-winning broadcaster Charlie Connelly for Attention All Shipping celebrating the shipping forecast as the quirky broadcast embarks on its second century. Spiritualist Psychic Medium Nikki Kitt will be joining us in June with one of her Psychic/Mediumship Evenings.

A new show by acclaimed writer, storyteller and performer James Rowland featuring his captivating mix of storytelling, music and comedy. Learning To Fly sees James tell the story of a remarkable friendship he made when he was a lonely, unhappy teenager with the scary old lady who lived in the spooky house on his street. It’s about connection, no matter what the obstacles and about love’s eternal struggle with time.

Local Company the Western Players will be bringing a series of 3 one-act plays written by two titans of playwriting, Alan Ayckbourn and Anton Chekhov to the stage in Midsummer Madness.

Located in Old Town, Swindon the Arts Centre has 200 seats, and offers a mixed programme of concerts, comedy, dance, drama, exhibitions, musical theatre, and local amateur productions.
