Swindon Dance will be holding various dance auditions for young people as part of a national training programme - Centre for Advanced Training.
The Centre for Advanced Training or CAT is a national training programme for young talented dancers, regardless of experience or background.
Swindon Dance says the CAT training programme helps its own aims to inspire and empower gifted dancers to fulfil their creative potential.
Each year Swindon Dance offers a range of open events for dancers interested in joining its programmes. Members of the public can register their interest in the auditions if they are between 11-17 years and want to train with the CAT.
The audition schedule is as follows:
- 30 May & 16 July - Swindon Contemporary Programme
Swindon Dance are looking for dancers with a passion for contemporary dance. Those wanting to join the Swindon Contemporary Programme will need to audition. Auditions are taking place on Monday 30 May (half term) or Saturday 16 July.

- 30 May & 16 July - Swindon Street Dance Programme
Those looking to enjoy different types of street dance, or wishing to improve their skills can audition for the Street Dance programme and join in September 2022. Attendees will work on a range of styles including; hip hop, popping, breaking, house and more.

- 16 July - Swindon Ballet Programme
Swindon Dance's pilot ballet scheme is up and running this year. Soon the organisation will confirm if the full programme will run in September 2022. 16 July has been marked as a potential audition date.

The Swindon Dance team say their Exeter Contemporary Programme auditions have now passed, but those interested in joining the programme can register their interest at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSexBtSp4xuTKDAKyYPMwi0IkDOLnYXY0bqjpVKyDnvmLwU3Iw/viewform. The organisation say there may still be an opportunity for individuals to join the programme in September.
