The November meeting of Textiles & Stitch Around Marlborough was held on Zoom, with Bobby delivering a presentation for the group, entitled “My Creative Journey”.

She discussed her earlier life and previous job roles within the textiles industry.

After leaving school Bobby's first job was making glamorous theatre costumes and after a few years in industry she trained and went on to teach at a secondary school.

In 1986 she moved to South Shropshire, taught City & Guilds Design courses and got involved with school and community projects.

Bobby's presentation then went on to mention her current workplace, Moor Hall Studio where she offers a variety of textile and art related courses.

During a visit to Uganda Bobby set up project for the local community which included basketry, making brooms, mats and making bark cloth. She said this experience has inspired a lot of her work.

The Christmas meeting of Textiles & Stitch Around Marlborough will be on Monday 6 December, 2021 at Kennet Valley Hall, Lockeridge. The meeting will include a surprise speaker.
