At approximately 4pm on Monday July 22, a member of the public was parked in a black Volkswagen Golf in Dunsford Road, near to the Kingshill junction, while speaking to a friend on the phone.

Two men approached the vehicle and threatened the driver, saying they were going to steal his car, before punching him several times causing him a cut to his eye.

The driver attempted to drive off, but collided with a bollard in the road.
The two men then ran off up Sunnyside Avenue, in the direction of Okus.

The first man is described as aged in his early 20s, 6 ft tall and of slim build. He had a tanned complexion, stubble on his face and was wearing a light coloured top, and blue basketball style shorts.

The second man is described as white, approximately 6 ft 1 inch tall, with short hair and was wearing a dark grey hooded top.

PC James Mann said: “This was a nasty attempted robbery which occurred at 4pm – it’s likely there would have been people out and about who would have seen the incident take place. Both men were seen in the area before the incident – we believe they had been walking around near Dunsford Close and to the rear of the petrol station at the bottom of Kingshill.
