A 20-year-old man was assaulted in Swindon town centre on Saturday and we are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Between approximately 3am and 3.30am on Saturday 20 July, the victim left The Edge in Bridge Street when he was involved in an altercation with another man. The man assaulted the victim with what is believed to have been a belt, causing him an injury to his eye which has resulted in a partial loss of sight.
Det Sgt Wayne Harvey said: “This was a nasty assault - the victim sustained significant injuries to his eye which has substantially impaired his vision. We are carrying out a robust investigation into this assault and we would like to appeal to any witnesses to the incident to come forward. You may have information which could help our investigation.”
