A new planning application has been received by Swindon Borough Council for a new dental practice to open at Unit A, Staldon Court in East Wichel.

The Dental Practice would provide services to both NHS and private patients and would comprise of a three-surgery practice along with a waiting area for patients. The practice would employ three dentists together with a hygienist and receptionist.

The application seeks a change of use from A class (shops) uses to D1 (non-residential institutions) to enable the use of the site as a dentist. The exterior will remain as existing with internal alterations to create three consulting rooms as well as a waiting area. The design layout of the new dentist surgery is attached.

The application’s plans can be viewed at http://pa1.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess by entering the application number S/17/2027 into the search box.

Old Town & East Wichel Councillor, Nadine Watts, said: “I welcome the news of a new dental practice opening in East Wichel subject to planning permission.  I believe that there is a huge demand in the local area for dental places and this will help many residents of East Wichel.

"It is great to hear that the proposed change of use is not speculative and there is a confirmed end user for the site.  It would be a most welcome addition to the neighbourhood centre.”

The Dental Practice would be open up to 6 days a week between 08:00-19:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00-13:00 on Saturdays.
