You are a step toward losing your mind. Just one step from falling into delirium because of lack of sleep. All the new parents have been there and seen all of the situations. The endless crying session, laugh fists, inexplicable energy in the middle of the night. All the symptoms of parenthood. Even though it appears as torture. It is not. Once they are all grown up, these would be some of the most beautiful memories. All of the sweet things you will retell over and over again. But, before that, here you can find some of the tips for sound baby sleep.

1. Read the signs

Learn how to read the first signs of sleepiness. When your baby is not happy and hyped anymore and shows no signs of interest it is probably time for bed. Do not wait a minute more. In these moments, their hormonal system secretes a high level of serotonin, a very powerful hormone of sleep, and babies are not able to fight it. Instead of waiting for your child to get more sleepy, tuck them in and let them sleep sweetly. In case you wait a bit more, this will result in the different hormonal reactions leading towards nervousness and long crying sessions.

2. Create Womb-Like Environment

When you are about to tuck your child into the crib make sure to have your curtains closed and surroundings quiet. Most of the babies sleep in the REM phase, rapid eye movement. This is not sound sleep. Anything from your surroundings can wake them up. There are some ways they can have sound sleep. One of them is a smart crib. These cribs have small engines integrated and rock your babies in constant intensity. Since they are used only for the period of 6 months, some of the companies offer you the possibility to rent their products. The Snoo Smart Sleep Bassinet rental options are easy billing, adjustable period of use, the whole package of products. Additionally, there is a cancellation period at any moment. These bassinets are created to swing your baby easily, just the way they swing in mommy’s tummy.

3. Keep your room ventilated and cool

People like to sleep in cool rooms. It is much better to spend your nights in a cool and fresh environment because it helps you to reach the phase of deep sleep faster. The same goes for your baby. Do not overheat your room and keep it ventilated. Try to eliminate all the smells and fragrances from your room. If the fingers of your baby feel chilly, it is not a big deal, it is normal. To check if your baby is warm enough, gently touch their chest. If it is warm, then your baby is all comfortable.

4. Night Wakings

It is common sense for children to have multiple random wakings at night. The same goes for babies. Do not get too alarmed about this. Sometimes, they drift out of sleep but come back quickly. If you try to put them asleep on your own, you may produce a contra effect. This may disturb their sleeping pattern in the near future. Let them learn how to fall asleep on their own.

5. Night-time Care

Night-time feeding is unavoidable. The most important thing you can do in these moments is to be very bored. Avoid any kind of eye contact and do not try to talk to your baby. At night you are the most interesting thing to your baby. Any kind of conversation with your baby can be a signal for a “party”. If you want your child to go back to sleep more easily, try to escape communication. Do not even look at them.

6. Establish Sleeping Pattern

It is of essential importance to make your baby develop sleeping patterns. Try to put them in bed whenever they are sleepy. These are not actually sleeping sessions, but naps instead. Sometimes these naps last for 10 minutes, sometimes more than an hour. If there is a long nap, make sure to keep your baby awake before nighttime. It is of immense importance for them to receive enough sleep during the night. This way you will slowly make a path for your child to develop a neat sleeping pattern.

Tucking your baby seems to be more demanding than you could imagine. Sometimes, you do not sleep for a spare second. Do not do this. This will make you feel exhausted and can seriously affect your health. If you are breastfeeding your baby, lack of sleep will eventually lead to the milk cut. Take equal care of your baby and yourself as well.
