Thousands of people attended the Swindon Boishaki Mela event this year, that celebrates the Bangladeshi New Year.
The event took place on Sunday 17 July at Faringdon Road Park, and was organised to raise funds for the Swindon Mayor’s Charities - STEP and the Zam Zam Trust.
Almost 3,500 locals attended, including the Mayor himself, Swindon 105.5's Shirley Ludford, and Helen Browning from Helen Browning's Organic.
Entry was priced at £2 and individuals could pay at the gates on the day.
A variety of performances were given by artists from South Asian backgrounds, including Nish, SmashBengali and TRXBL. There were also dance pieces, a fashion show, henna, face-painting, and funfair rides for families to enjoy.
Mayor of Swindon Cllr Abdul said the event received some wonderful feedback from members of the public, and that the food and fashion stalls were very successful.
He added: "I was really pleased to have been able to hold an event of this scale following almost two years of covid-19 restrictions. Overall, the Boishaki Mela was a great day out and a great event to pull the Swindon community together."
