Every 2 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and 38% of those cases are preventable. That’s a lot of lives turned upside down and a lot of questions left unanswered.

Why not join us for some expert advice and discussion on screening and coping with the condition at Nationwide Building Society, Pipers Way, Swindon on TUESDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2019 @ 6:00PM.

The Old Town Surgery practice in conjunction with Nationwide Building Society are pleased to welcome Ms Anushka Chaudhry, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, Rupert Beck, Consultant Urological Surgeon and Hannah Hollis from Cancer Research UK to our event.

Anushka will provide advice on breast screening and breast cancer with useful discussions on coping with this condition.

Rupert will speak about coping with some of the issues that affect men specifically such as bladder and prostate problems, erectile dysfunction and any other urological issues the audience would like to discuss.

Hannah promises to provide expert advice on cancer screening and why it’s important to take part on the national screening programme.

Dr Heaton, lead GP at the Old Town Surgery said; “We’re seeking ways in which we can provide our patients and carers with information on health care issues that affect them or someone close to them – we want to encourage people to come along on the evening and (hopefully) gain a better understanding of these cancers and how patients should be more informed about examining themselves.”

“We want our patients and carers to be given every opportunity to learn more about health care issues that affect them. With these educational evenings we are taking steps to making this a reality.”

If you’re a patient of Old Town Surgery, an employee or member of Nationwide Building Society and would like to attend the event please contact the surgery via the details below.
