Barchester’s White Lodge Care Home in Braydon was draped in bunting to celebrate Easter.
The decorations in the cafe and lounge came courtesy of local children who entered an Easter and spring bunting competition.
The idea behind the competition was to have an array of colourful bunting decorated pictures with an Easter and spring theme for the residents to enjoy as well as maintaining links with local and playgroups and schools.
Intergenerational activities have always been important for White Lodge residents and it was a pleasure for Tina Hughes, Senior Activities Coordinator to present the Easter chocolate prizes.
General manager Ramona Gherendi said: “We were delighted to have received so many entries for our Easter and spring 'Hug the Home in Bunting' competition.
"The residents enjoyed an afternoon selecting the winners, although it wasn’t easy with so much creativity.
"There were different age categories and we were able to present to the winning children at Longleaze Primary School in Royal Wootton Bassett and Head Teacher Laura Hilliard at Brinkworth Early of Danby CE Primary School. There were also winning entries from Lydiard Millicent School.
"Currently we are working on an exciting new project creating a sensory garden, along with being part of Countryfile’s Plant Britain project, and we very much look forward to inviting local schools and community groups to enjoy the gardens.
"Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities."
Barchester is welcoming new residents into its homes, and can be contacted on 01666 860381.
