Swindon’s Bus Company will observe the national silence due to take place on Saturday 17 April.

The local bus operator’s drivers will pull over at 3pm for a minute’s silence to mark the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

“This is our opportunity to pay our respects, along with the rest of the nation, to His Royal Highness,” said Swindon’s Bus Company managing director, Andrew Wickham.

“Our drivers will pull over, if it is safe to do so, at 3pm to coincide with the ceremonial funeral, which will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. This will also give those on-board a chance to mark the occasion if they wish to do so.”
