Swindon’s Bus Company will run its buses to a Sunday timetable on the day the country comes together for the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The local bus operator’s drivers will also be given the opportunity to watch the ceremonies, with a pause in services between 10am and 1pm.

There may be disruption for a further hour as Swindon’s Bus Company moves all vehicles back in their correct locations.

Swindon’s Bus Company Managing Director Andrew Wickham said: “With His Majesty King Charles III declaring the day of his mother’s funeral - Monday 19 September - a Bank Holiday, we have revised our services.

“We know many of our drivers will want to observe this significant event in the history of our nation, so we are also planning a cessation of services for the duration of the funeral.

"Along with millions of people, both in the UK and across the world, many of my colleagues are feeling a sense of loss.

"The funeral will be an opportunity for people to come together, pay their respects, and reflect on the life of a unique monarch who lived her life in dedication of her subjects."
