Swindon’s Bus Company has announced changed services to reflect demand during the pandemic.
Managing director Andrew Wickham said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been transporting key workers across the region because we know how important it is for them to travel to and from work in order to provide vital public services.
“We understand just how important bus services are to those who rely on them to get to work. With that in mind, we have looked closely at our routes in Wiltshire, and are focussing our efforts on those which are most in demand.
“It means we can use our drivers elsewhere on our network, helping to keep the region moving.
“I would like to thank all our customers for their patience during this time, and commend the dedication of our front-line colleagues who are continuing to do a wonderful job in difficult circumstances.”
The following changes come into effect on 24 January:
- Route 5 and route 17 - minor reduction in frequency
- Route 1, 1A, 13 and 14 - change from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes
“No other services are affected at this time,” added Mr Wickham. “However, we are constantly monitoring the situation and will increase or reduce services whenever necessary.”
