Home Instead Senior Care Swindon aims to bring a bit of cheer to the winter months with its Be a Santa to a Senior campaign.
The campaign will see the care company collaborate with local schools, businesses and other organisations to gift local senior citizens cards, crafts, and activities this holiday season.
Home Instead has already joined forces with nine local schools and several individuals, and wants more to take part.
The company says that whether a person writes a letter, makes a Christmas card or crafts a Christmas gift, their efforts will be very much appreciated.
This year has seen many senior citizens having to isolate or shield due to the ongoing pandemic, with many not being able to see their family and loved ones for many months.
Home Instead caregivers have continued to care for their elderly clients in the comfort of their own homes throughout the nationwide lockdown, providing services such as companionship and specialist dementia care, but are aware that other elderly people are not so lucky.
The campaign will include ‘Santa-grams’ from local school children to elderly people in the Swindon area. The messages will be isolated for the appropriate time before being delivered contact-free to local seniors, ensuring the campaign is covid secure.
Home Instead is encouraging local businesses and organisations to make donations in the form of puzzles and activities which can fit into an A4 envelope, to keep elderly people occupied this Christmas. Donations will be collected in the last week of November and delivered by Santa’s Elf in the second week of December.
