A special gathering for carers will be held at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre on Thursday, 29 September.

Running from 10.30am to 3.30pm, the information sharing day is aimed at people caring for someone living with dementia.

It is being organised by Public Health in association with Swindon Carers Centre, Swindon Dementia Action Alliance, Swindon Borough Council and Bellway.

There will be no entry charge, but spaces are limited and should be booked in advance. Lunch will be provided and care providers will also be at the event to look after loved ones living with dementia if the carer wishes to attend the information sessions on their own.

The range of speakers will include Swindon Carers (support and benefits), Solicitors (Lasting Power of Attorney, wills), the Affordable Warmth team from Swindon Borough Council, Prospect Hospice, Kingshill Research Centre (new research into dementia) and Wiltshire Police.

There will also be a chance to hear from carers sharing their own real life experiences, and a range of organisations, charities and businesses who will be on hand to offer advice or signpost to where people can get extra help and support.

Places can be booked by contacting the Wyvern Theatre Ticket Office on 01793 535534 or at swindontheatres.co.uk
