Swindon Borough Council has issued tips to help keep people and their loved ones safe over the festive period.
A spokesperson said: "If you’re planning to meet family and friends over the festive period, there's some things we can all do to stay safe and protect ourselves and loved ones."
With covid still very much present, people are advised to ensure they get their booster jabs, together with flu jabs if eligiblde.

Anybody feeling unwell should stay at home and avoid contact with others, and everybody should wash their hands regularly.
The council also advises people to heat their homes to a temperature which is comfortable for them. If possible, this should be at least 18 degrees Celsius in rooms which are regularly in use.
Householders should make sure their heating and cooking appliances are safe, using advice from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service at www.dwfire.org.uk/safety
People should seek professional advice if somebody they know feels unwell. This might be from a pharmacy, by visiting 111.nhs.uk or calling NHS 111
People planning to travel are advised to look at advice from the RAC which can be found at www.rac.co.uk
