Swindon Borough Council have recently shared an update on the progress of the new play area that is being constructed at Coate Water.
Members of the council have released some images of the park area - which now has the brand-new play equipment installed.
Swindon Borough Council say that the play park will be as inclusive and accessible as possible, so it can be enjoyed by all children from across Swindon and beyond.
Cllr Matty Courtliff, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Heritage, Leisure and Town Centre Experience, said: “I’m so happy to see this play area nearing completion and I can’t wait to bring my children here in the Spring. I’m really proud they will be able to play with children of all abilities in an inclusive environment.
“Coate Water has so much potential as a destination and this play area is just the start of a series of planned improvements at one of our amazing country parks.”
The play area's features include:
- A wheelchair roundabout
- Swings, one of which is wheelchair accessible
- In-ground trampolines
- Nine-platform multi-play unit
- Sensory bells and wind chimes
A spokesperson from the council said: "
ESP Play Parks have been working hard to build the new play park over the last few weeks and will be close to finishing over the next month.
"Funding for this play area was secured from local developer contributions."
