Great Western Hospital has seen a 50% increase of covid 19 cases within the last week.

Currently there are 10 confirmed and suspected patients at the hospital.

Two wards have had to be converted to dedicated covid 19 areas.

A hospital spokesperson said: "Over the last few weeks, we have seen a significant increase in COVID-19 patients being treated at Great Western Hospital.

Whilst the numbers are lower than we have experienced during the first and second waves, we expect these numbers to continue to increase and want to remind the public about what we can all do to slow the spread. We want to encourage everyone to keep wearing a face mask, maintain social distancing and regularly wash your hands so we can prevent the virus from spreading through our communities."
