September 10 Update: 17 new confirmed covid cases in Swindon

The latest report from NHS England has revealed that there has been no further deaths from covid reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the figures the last death occurred on Monday 6 September. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak remains at 334. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.
According to the data released today at, there were 17 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 20,187 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 834 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 182 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 24,374. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,694 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
As of 9am on 10 September, 7,168,806 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 37,622 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 9 September, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 133,988 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 147.
