Another covid death reported at GWH as national toll passes 50,000

The latest report from NHS England has revealed one further death from coronavirus reported at Great Western Hospital in the last 24 hours. It is one day since the last such death was reported. The death is understood to have happened on Monday, 9 November according to the report. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the outbreak has risen to 143. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.

As of 4.13pm today there have been 64 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total has risen to 2,812 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the last seven days there have been 399 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there have been 84 new cases in the past 24 hours, meaning the number of people who have tested positive in Wiltshire is 3,841. This means that in the last seven days there have been 437 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. These figures are split by local authority. Please note that these new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.

As of 9am on 11 November, 1,256,725 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This is a rise of 22,950 positive tests in the last 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 10 November, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 50,365 have died across all settings. This is an increase of 595.
