Feb 23 update: Number of covid deaths reported at GWH passes 300

The latest report from NHS England has revealed that two deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital in the last 24 hours. It is two days since the last such death was reported. According to the data, one of the deaths occurred on February 20 and the date of the other has yet to be announced. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 301. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.

As of 4pm today there have been 38 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total has risen to 10,382 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the last seven days there have been 265 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there have been 43 new cases in the past 24 hours, meaning the number of people who have tested positive in Wiltshire is 16,104. This means that in the last seven days there have been 449 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. These figures are split by local authority. Please note that these new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.

As of 9am on 23 February, 4,134,639 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This is a rise of 8,489 positive tests in the last 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 22 February, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 121,305 have died across all settings. This is an increase of 508.
