The latest report from NHS England has revealed that no further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. It has been three days since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak remains at 345. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 108 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 21,413 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 757 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 222 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 36,951. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,561 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
As of 5pm on 23 September, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 135,983 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 180.
