The latest report from NHS England has revealed that three deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the data, two of the deaths occurred on 9 January and the third on 10 January. It has been one day since the last such death was reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 409. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 10 January.
According to the data released today at 4.18pm, there were 290 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 45,731 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 3,619 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 546 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 89,061. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 5,783 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
As of 9am on 11 January, 14,732,594 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 120,821 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 10 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 150,609 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 379.
