The latest report from NHS England has revealed that two further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the data, they occurred on 19 January. It has been two days since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 416. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 19 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 412 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 49,279 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,625 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 750 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 94,680. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,289 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 20 January, 15,613,283 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 107,364 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 19 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 153,202 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 330.
