The latest report from NHS England has revealed that two further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the data, one of the deaths occurred on 25 January and the other on 26 January. It has been seven days since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 418. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 26 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 449 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 52,184 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,905 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 911 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 99,911. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 5,231 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 27 January, 16,245,474 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 96,871 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 26 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 155,040 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 338.
