The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a further death from covid has been reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the data, it occurred on 25 January. It has been one day since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 419. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 27 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 357 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 52,541 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,795 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 918 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 100,829. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 5,472 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 28 January, 16,333,980 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 89,176 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 27 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 155,317 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 277.
