The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a death from covid has been reported at Great Western Hospital. According to the data, it occurred on 6 January. It has been one day since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 405. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 6 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 526 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 44,054 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 4,358 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 1,107 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 86,364. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 6,640 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 7 January, 14,193,228 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 178,250 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 6 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 149,744 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 229.
