The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a death from covid has been reported at Great Western Hospital in the last 24 hours. The data indicates that the death occurred on 18 January. It is one day since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 228. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.
As of 4pm today there have been 101 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total has risen to 8,770 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the last seven days there have been 682 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there have been 225 new cases in the past 24 hours, meaning the number of people who have tested positive in Wiltshire is 12,717. This means that in the last seven days there have been 1,589 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. These figures are split by local authority. Please note that these new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
As of 9am on 20 January, 3,505,754 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This is a rise of 38,905 positive tests in the last 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 19 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 93,290 have died across all settings. This is an increase of 1,820.
