January 8 and 9 weekend update: Total of 1,068 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day, and not on Bank Holidays. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday 10 January, and its official total remains at 405.

According to the data released on Saturday, 9 January, there were 508 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 44,562 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 4,011 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 796 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 87,160. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 6,196 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 9 January, there were 560 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 45,122 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 4,059 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 763 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 87,923. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 6,212 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 8 January, 14,333,794 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 146,390 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 2 January, 14,475,192 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 141,472 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 7 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 150,057 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 313.
