July 17 and 18 weekend update: Total of 396 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday, 19 July, and its official total remains at 323.

According to the data released on Saturday, 17 July, there were 209 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 13,675 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 851 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 346 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 21,708. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,714 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 18 July, there were 187 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 13,862 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 1,000 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 346 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 22,054. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,935 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 17 July, 5,386,340 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 56,674 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 18 July, 5,433,939 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 48,161 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 16 July, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 128,683 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 41.

As of 5pm on 17 July, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 128,708 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 25.
