September 11 and 12 weekend update: Total of 218 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday, 13 September, and its official total remains at 334. The last covid death recorded at Great Western Hospital occurred on 6 September.

According to the data released on Saturday, 11 September, there were 143 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 134,144 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 820 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 149 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 34,523. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,566 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 12 September, there were 75 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 20,405 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 725 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 139 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 34,662. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,440 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 11 September, 7,197,103 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 28,297 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 12 September, 7,226,276 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 29,173 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 10 September, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 134,144 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 156.

As of 5pm on 11 September, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 134,200 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 56.
