Drugs raid leads to man being arrested on suspicion of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity

A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a drugs raid in Upper Stratton, Swindon this morning (21/08).

Officers from the North Swindon Community Policing Team executed the warrant in Cowleaze Walk at approximately 7.30am.

They targeted one address believed to be linked to the supply of drugs.

Suspected class B drugs were located and seized.

A man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and on suspicion of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He was taken to Gablecross Police Station and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Acting Sgt Ed Audritt, who led the operation alongside Acting Sgt Nathan Perry, said: “This is another warrant that has been executed in the Swindon area due to information provided by the community.

“The community plays a vital part in enabling us to disrupt those who are intent on exploiting vulnerable people through drug dealing – a crime which has a far-reaching and devastating impact.”
