Vulnerable man has shoes, phone and keys stolen after mugging by four attackers in East Wichel

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident which occurred near East Wichel, Swindon.

The victim – a vulnerable man in his 40s – was walking along the alleyway that leads from East Wichel to Old Town, when he was approached by four males who he did not know. The group stole his phone, shoes and house keys. During the incident he sustained minor injuries. 

The suspects are described as being aged between 16 and 20. One of them is described as being black and wearing a grey tracksuit. It is not known what direction they left in. 

PC Rosie Riley said: “Although unfortunately the details we have of the incident are quite vague we are confident that any witnesses to the incident would remember what they saw and we would urge them to contact police. 

“This incident has understandably left the victim feeling frightened and we’d like to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to help us identify those involved.”
