Three arrested in connection with Swindon burglary after footchase by officers

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after police were alerted to a break-in in Swindon yesterday.

At around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon (5/2/19) officers on patrol were alerted to a burglary in Grosvenor Road, Swindon, where three suspects had fled the scene in direction of Kingshill.



They were described as three teenagers, wearing grey hoodies and black coats, two of whom were riding push bikes.



Officers began searching the area and, following information from a member of the public, made their way towards Rushey Platt play park.



They intercepted the group near Sword Gardens and gave chase on foot when the teenagers tried to run off.



An 18-year-old man from Marlborough has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and going equipped for theft.



An 18-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.



A 16-year-old boy from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.



All three remain in custody at Gablecross Police Station.



A number of items were also seized, including a metal safe in a black holdall, jewellery and watches, and car keys.
